Detoxing (renewing) the mind

In dealing with sickness and disease, I have always tried to encourage people to discover the underlying root causes instead of temporarily covering up symptoms with a drug. While it is important to eat healthy and do cleansing on a regular basis, I believe there is a step that goes even deeper.

Researchers say 87% - 95% of the illnesses that affect us directly result from our thought life. Maybe what we need to do, in addition to cleansing our bodies is to do a brain detox from time to time.

Our thought life occupies mental real estate, and when we hang on to negative thoughts like offense, anger, bitterness, abuse, resentment, etc., they are not just harmless things, but can cause a physical change to happen in the brain that can then manifest in the body. Inflammation in your body can actually start from inflammatory negative toxic thoughts in your brain.

Even the emotion of fear will translate in the body as stress and 1400 chemical and physical responses happen and throw the body into chemical chaos. No wonder God tells us 365 times not to fear.

Dr. Caroline Leaf, a Communication Pathologist, Audiologist and Cognitive Neuroscientist, has researched the science of thought to help people control and manage their thoughts and emotions. She has developed a 7 minutes a day program that can achieve a toxic free life.

I highly recommend you check out her program at www.21daybraindetox.com and do the work of learning to renew your mind so that you can renew your whole body.
