Food Prodigals

No matter what problem you are going through, whether relational, spiritual, financial, or physical, it really is just a wisdom problem. James 1:5 says;

“If you lack wisdom, you can ask God for it, and it will be given you liberally.

When the prodigal son “came to himself” in the pigpen, his repentance released the wisdom he needed to fix his situation. Desperation has a way of cutting through pride and rebellion, opening us up to a willingness to look at things from a Godly perspective.

Some people are “food prodigals” in how they abused their bodies. When the average person consumes 150 lbs. of sugar a year, along with dead junk food, the body at some point will have a crisis because of deficiency and toxicity. For many, this is a wake up call to seek and receive wisdom.

A friend of ours lived on a junk food diet for most of his life. His wake up call came in the form a severe heart attack that almost killed him. His desire to live, released the wisdom he needed to change his lifestyle and he dropped over 50 lbs. in just three months and feels alive again.

The prodigal’s father said to the older brother, “be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again”. For those of you who that feel like your body needs resurrection, I encourage you to receive and act on the wisdom of your heavenly father given in Proverbs 3:1-8. “This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.
